2009 Dec Barnes & Noble

BNX2009GroupWow, what a great reception we got from the staff and patrons of Barnes & Noble.  We performed our Christmas Concert and what a pleasure it was to be INSIDE, and able to take off our Sande String Hoodies.  And to think how we scrambled to find black stretch gloves for all :)

wholegrpI played viola for most of the concert, as a new job deprived us of our regular viola player Amber.  Many of my students also play multiple string instruments and took a turn on cello.

Callie and Eric have played cello on and off for a few years now, and now we can add Paige to the list of multiplayers.  It really makes a difference to have students who can switch instruments, and read mutliple clefs.

This is our last year with Joel (cello) and we are working to diversify to cover all the parts!  What to do about viola players is another dilema.  Meanwhile it is really nice having a pianist/percussionist on staff.  A very nice new addition!

There was some confusion on the part of two of my strongest violinists (who one by one took their places on the back row), we had to shuffle the order of songs a bit to accomodate missing soloist.

It was our last concert of the season, and despite the serious looks of concentration on all our faces, there was a unanamous consensus that we wanted to play here again!
