Best Buy 2009

We started the season off by playing our first public Christmas performance inside (YES ... INSIDE) Best Buy, many thanks to the efforts of Ed Shain.  The store employees were amazingly helpful, they moved the sofa and livingroom furniture near the back corner TV area, and changed the main display TV to a looped tape of a roaring fire.  We felt very welcomed.

We were a bit light in the number of members who could show, with only three trained on viola, I ended up playing that instrument (a pattern for this season).  Joel was on cello (with ocassional help from Eric).  We are able to play as long as we cover our viola & cello parts, most violin parts can be covered by almost all violins (trading from 1st violin to 2nd violin parts at will).

We've been practicing our holiday tunes since August, and for sanity every 3rd to 4th song, we sprinkle in folk music, a fiddle tune, or show/movie music.  It was lovely and fun and over all too quickly.

Everyone worked hard, as usual, and another holiday concert was over!
