It was a lovely performance, given the Monday prior to Thanksgiving. Many continued thanks to the Solano Family for arranging our second performance in this truly lovely setting. Outstanding accostics and a grand piano allowed us to play at our best.
After a few beginner solos, the Junior Orchestra was the first group to perform. With only 4 violins and a cellist (Orchestra member and violinist Ms. Paige) joined them, they performed very well. Many new players (sitting in the audience) would join them in January 2010. (Still looking for pictures - please contact me if you have any to share).
The Orchestra was the last act, and we pulled out all the stops. It was truly a special night!
Karlie was wonderful, as both our pianist and occasional percussionist.
The two chairs down front flanking Joel allowed us (including me) to rotate onto cello when needed.
Additionally, we gained another player around Halloween, who came to us and did so well in just a few weeks, we even were able to add jazz cymbal to one of our favorite song lovingly refered to "5 Ukes." An adaptation of both Ukranian Bell Carol done in the style of Dave Brubeck's - Take Five. It is really nice having her with us.
Senior members of the group Callie, Eric, Casey, Jessica, Mai, Amber & Joel, were joined but up and comers Lainey, Kristen, Paige, Jill and our newest member Brianna.
